After The Rain

After a winter storm, I'd love to be able to drop whatever I'm doing and explore greater Los Angeles with my camera - with the snowcapped mountains as a background. Pretty spectacular. Thanks to Los Angeles Times photographers Mark Boster and Allen Schaben for these great shots.

I'm reminded how God's power and majesty in something as simple (or perhaps not so simple) as a winter storm were captured by the psalmist over 2500 years ago:

"He [God] spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes. He hurls down hail like pebbles. How can withstand his icy blast? He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow." Psalm 147:16-18

I appreciate the recent rains - and snow in the local mountains - not just because it looks great (which it does), not just because we desperately need the precipitation (which we do), but because it's reminder of God's power and provision.

More rain on the way.

Stay dry.
