Seeing someone out and about with a large pet iguana is uncommon, even for Los Angeles.
Some students from our summer ministry and I were out on Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica a couple of weeks ago. We came across this guy with a large (OK, huge) pet iguana in his lap. Had to stop for a moment and take a couple photos.
Saved a trip to the Los Angeles Zoo.
Another "experiencing L.A." moment.

Hello, I am a graduate student at the University of La Verne and am planning to use the 1st and 3rd picture of your blog in my paper. It has to do with pedestrianism and the built environment...basically the pics are a great example of human interaction in the public arena. thanks!
previous comment was that I would be using the 1st and 3rd picture of this blog for a paper, however, if permission could be granted then much would be appreciated. Thank you in advance...the picture will only be used for academic purposes and no monetary compensation.
gogoconrad: yes, absolutely, feel free to use these two photos. Just include "photo credit: www.ExperiencingLA.com - used by permission"
Thanks - David
This is not an uncommon sight in Santa Monica. Actually, almost considered regular. Pet iquanas are a thing. Well, at least in Santa Monica they are. Nothing comes as a surprise in this town... Well, absolutely normal people walking about, maybe. #lovesantamonica #defyingsocialnorms?challengeaccepted
